26 Bus Route Identity

I often find it hard to remember and identify bus numbers, especially when in a rush - a problem shared among many. I tasked myself to create a more visual system for bus routes, making them more accessible for those with number leaning difficulties.

For each bus route, I created logos that combine the route number with icons of buildings along the route. This creates a strong image, allowing people to remember the logo rather than the number. The icons also make it clearer which route the bus takes through the city.

I then explored how this could be applied to a visual identity/branding for the bus route, using the icons and typeface across posters. This advertises public transport in a contemporary way, hopefully encouraging more people to use it.

These route posters would be situated on a scrolling billboard at bus stops - using the space to make transport easier to navigate rather than for advertising.
