National Trust:
Lavenham Guildhall Dye Garden
After completing an internship with the National Trust, I was commissioned to research and create a series of illustrative information panels for their medieval dye garden at Lavenham Guildhall, telling the story of woad dyeing and the history of dyeing in the town of Lavenham.
I aimed to incorporate objects into my panels to create interest, using an old dye pot as the basis for one. The linocut style I worked in was inspired by medieval/Tudor woodcuts to fit in with the medieval property.
Linocut, rubber stamping and digital.
