Colchester Castle: Roman Face Pots

Inspired by the collection of Roman face pots at Colchester Castle Museum; the largest collection in Britain, I created a poster exploring the characters of those buried within and whose faces are on the pots.

Working with rubber stamping and sumi ink, I sought to create the spirits of the pots, focusing on the humorous expressions of the faces to bring to life the personality of the person the pot represented.

My aim for this project was to promote creativity and imagination in museums, inspiring people to create their own interpretations of objects and to imagine the lives, people and stories connected to them.
